The workshop held at the Museo de Arte de Ponce was the first dedicated to accessibility within a museum setting. It was organized for the staff working in different departments of the museum and all dealing with customers both with and without special needs. What was interesting about this workshop was that the museum already had in place a number of facilities and so the workshop was able to work with the staff further improving their knowledge on using the methods at their disposal to maximize the experiences of their customers.
eclécticO Int., Inc. in alliance with SOS Inc. (Servicios Orientados al Sordo) organized the second workshop in San Juan at. Colegio San Gabriel (a school for the Deaf). It produced a formidable turn out of over one hundred students and teachers. The workshop focused more on working with people with hearing disabilities.
The first of 15 workshops began on February 17th, 2012 at 9 a.m. in the town of Ceiba. MAVI (Movimiento para el Alcance de Vida Independiente) and the Municipality of Ceiba closely collaborated with eclécticO Int., Inc. in the advertising of this first and unique workshop in accessibility.
